Write custom emails about defunding the Chicago Police Department and/or whatever other current pressing demands there are. We advise making “custom emails” rather than using templates because this raises the likelihood that your email will actually be read and counted.

Black Lives Matter compiled the dos and don’ts when attending a protest. This is a must read before going out on the front lines!

 

Chicago Community Bond Fund

The CCBF pays bond for people charged with crimes in Cook County, Illinois. Through a revolving fund, CCBF supports individuals whose communities cannot afford to pay the bonds themselves and who have been impacted by structural violence. Read more about their mission and donate.

 

Brave Space Alliance

Brave Space Alliance is the first Black-led, trans-led LGBTQ Center located on the South Side of Chicago, dedicated to creating and providing affirming, culturally competent, for-us by-us resources, programming, and services for LGBTQ individuals on the South and West sides of the city. Assata’s Daughters 

Black-women led organization that provides political education, leadership development, mentorship, and revolutionary services. Check out their resources and/or donate.

 

Sista Afya Community Mental Wellness 

Mission of sustaining the mental wellness of Black women through building community, sharing information, and connecting Black women to quality mental wellness services. Check out their resources and/or donate.

 

Black and Brown Sex Workers Mutual Aid Fund 

This GoFundMe was created to sustain financial support towards Black and Brown sex workers, a demographic that has been hit tremendously hard by COVID-19 and a rising police state. Sex workers are not provided with COVID-19 relief stimulus checks or unemployment. Donate to the GoFundMe or reach out to local sex worker support orgs to find out how to access funds.
